Requirements

Membership criteria

Review who can join and the documents you will need to provide as part of your application.

Who can join

  • Assigned Female at Birth.
  • Currently serve or have honorably served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Space Force) — including the Reserves and National Guard.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Share a commitment to dignity, sisterhood, service, and leadership.

Proof of Military Service

Black out SSN and pay information on all documents submitted.

  • ADischarge or Retirement Orders, OR DD214 (MEMBER COPY 4)
  • BCurrent LES (Active Service Members)

The DD 214 must not read "Other than Honorable" or "Dishonorable" discharge. A review will be conducted for General discharges.

Identification

  • 2 forms of unexpired identification

Letters of recommendation

2 letters of recommendation required:

  • 1 personal
  • 1 professional

The following fees are required to finalize your membership application. After you submit the form, you continue to Stripe-hosted Checkout to pay securely. If you completed a MAP volunteer background check within the last 12 months, an additional background check is not required.

If you were a MAP volunteer within the last 12 months, another background check is not required for membership.

    Our membership team follows up and invites you to an interest meeting.

    Take your pledge and join your local or founding chapter.

PDF or Word document. Large PDFs are gently compressed before upload so submissions stay reliable; Word files must already be 4 MB or smaller.

After you submit, you will continue to Stripe-hosted Checkout to pay the $25 application fee and $25 background check fee ($50 total). Card details are never collected on this site. If you were a MAP volunteer within the last 12 months, another background check is not required — contact the membership team after payment if a waiver applies.
